It`s a common scene for the residents of Karnataka and neighbouring states with the sight of lorries painted in yellow colour and all those private fleets of luxury passenger businesses with a distinctive logo on them called `VRL` - Vijayanand Roadlines Limited.
The biographical film Vijayanand is the celebration of one of the most successful businessmen in Karnataka - Vijay Sankeshwar. Directed by Rishika Sharma, she has effectively portrayed the man and his mind behind creating a legacy through an inspiring tale from the pages of Vijay Sankeshwar`s life.
Produced by Anand Sankeshwar, the film revolves around the central character of his father through his reflection and recollection. Though the son of BG Sankeshwar, who ran a profitable printing press in Gadag, Vijay Sankeshwar tread a different path to start his own transportation business.
The first half reflects the brilliant business mind and daring attitude of Vijay Sankeshwar, equally well portrayed on the big screen by Nihal, who has worked very hard for this project.
Nihal who was last seen in the film Trunk followed by venturing into the distribution of films has gained more than 10 kilos of weight to suit the character. Very few are aware of Nihal`s theatre background which has immensely helped him in his performance in Vijayanand.
That apart, senior star actors of the likes of Anant Nag, V Ravichandran, Prakash Belwadi, and Vinaya Prasad elevate the experience of watching this inspiring tale to a new level. Rishika deserves appreciation for turning the biography into an entertaining movie with a perfect message in the end.
